I go by both brachypelmide and brachypelma_smithi (pronouns are he/they, if you need those). I use these interchangeably. My name refers to these cute little guys! They're one of the most popular tarantulas among tarantula keepers, and look really pretty despite their simplicity! I honestly don't remember why I named myself after them, but it just kinda stuck.

I'm AN OBJECT from Poland, the land of commie blocks and crippling alcoholism, and this is my little home I built for myself. I grew increasingly tired of the corporate internet we have today, and so I turned to here! This website also serves as my training grounds for webdev. So far I think I'm doing well.

My interests and hobbies are all over the place. My biggest ones are nature, astronomy, photography, linguistics, anything computer related, old tech (especially phones), phone custom ROMs, the Source Engine, guns and other things that go boom, airsoft, and pharmacology.

I'm also an advocate of sorts for the open web, the fediverse, and the open-source and selfhost movements, despite still being shackled by a few corporate entities (damn you, Youtube! you're irreplacable!)

I love function over form, although I try to keep the form up every now and then, too. You'll see a lot of this on my site - from the site options to the node layer and the many other things hidden in the various corners of this site. I try to add more things as I go!
